Phillips-McLean’s has just returned from a solo exhibition at the world famous bi-annual Ravenna Mosaico just outside Venice, where he drew wide critical acclaim. In June 2011 he was the first mosaic Artist to exhibit at the prestigious London’s Untitled Art Exhibition.
His work is highly sought after and is currently on show in galleries in Italy, Germany, Belgium and England.
With a thirst to challenge the mosaic medium, Phillips-McLean is an innovator. He has used everything from shells, bones, pasta, and Ceramic tiles through to beautiful semi-precious agates stones. He is also the only artist to be creating ‘single entity cuts’ where pieces are literally cut out to appear in 3D. And yet he’s quoted as saying that he’s not even scratched the surface of his approach to the mosaic medium.
He shares his talent through small group and private portrait workshops in Barton-upon-Humber, Lincolnshire.
